17 SFST DWI Update
DWI arrests continue to be one of the most labor-intensive activities in law enforcement. These cases bring rise to more court appearances for officers than most any other type of enforcement activity. The litigation that surrounds DWI cases results in new case law on a near day-to-day basis. Minnesota statutes and case law arise from actions taken by police officers during the arrest process. This update of the DWI law and SFST protocols has been developed to keep officers on the cutting edge of change. This 4 hour course will discuss the ever changing DWI law, the newest and most relevant court cases affecting law enforcement procedures, tips on solidifying your DWI case, and a refresher of SFST skills and techniques. This is intended to be a refresher for those officers that have previously attended the 16-hour Standardized Field Sobriety testing course. This course is approved for 4 POST credits.
