Recognizing the need to provide legal coverage for our members when they are the target of a criminal investigation or a defendant in a civil action both arising from the course and scope of their duties as a police officer, the MPPOA created a Legal Defense Fund. The Legal Defense Fund is contracted with highly skilled civil and criminal attorneys available in Minnesota, which will be provided to a member of the fund, as well as providing whatever is necessary to aggressively defend in a civil or criminal matter. Individual members can join the LDF for a price of $96.00 a year.  Groups can join for a discounted rate.  Please contact the MPPOA Office for more information.  The Association wants to make sure an officer's career and bank account are protected from costly civil and criminal actions. Membership in the Legal Defense Fund is restricted only to members of the MPPOA.
